What You Will Learn:

Our birding excursions provide you with an opportunity to explore Telluride's beautiful mountain and riparian areas with a local birding expert. In these sessions you will learn:

•  How to listen for and use birdsong to identify bird species
•  Basic bird morphology ö how to use features and color markings to identify bird species
•  Yearly life-cycles of a variety of bird species
•  Nesting and migration patterns - why birds come to Telluride in the summer
•  Summer vs. winter ecology of local bird species

This trip is perfect as an introductory experience to birding or for well-seasoned birders to gain a sense of the Telluride's ornithological nature. You will explore the riparian area of Telluride's River Trail and Beaver Pond Preserve to see a variety of local and migratory bird species. Whether it's your first time or your life-list is longer than ours, you will certainly have a unique experience.
