Our Climate, Clothing/Equipment Lists
Telluride's summer weather is beautiful - warm, sunny days and cool nights. However, temperatures at some of our high altitude hiking and climbing areas can be quite chilly and afternoon thunderstorms are common during summer months. In the winter, temperatures can be very warm in the sun and quite cold in the shade. Layering your clothing is critical in moderating body temperature. Whether it is summer or winter, the most important aspect of outdoor travel is being prepared for rapid weather changes. Please pay close regard to our suggested clothing and equipment lists so that you can comfortably enjoy Telluride's beautiful outdoors. Please note: The San Juan Outdoor School will provide all technical equipment.
