We will introduce you to ice climbing gear, teach you belay skills and give you an opportunity to climb your first frozen waterfall. We will teach you ice axe and crampon use and give you the opportunity to experience a variety of different ways to explore the realm of vertical ice. Full-day Advanced Ice Climb The vertical ice of the San Juan Mountains is world-renowned for it's fantastic climbing. This clinic is for ice climbers with experience, who would like to join us for an adventure on some of region's most beautiful and longest waterfalls. Winter Mountaineering Skills Clinic In this clinic you will learn a variety of techniques for winter travel in the mountains including: ice axe and crampon use, temperature regulation techniques, winter survival skills, route-finding, avalanche hazard evaluation and snow and ice travel. Winter Mountaineering  Have you ever wanted to explore Telluride's mountains in the winter? Our winter mountaineering trips will give you the chance to use your mountaineering skills to explore the San Juan Mountains majestic backcountry and perhaps attain the goal of one of our region's summits. |
